I've read the suggested tips in the community about the radio not working with a premium subscription and nothing has worked- i've tried them all.
some stations won't play
some only play three songs
some will play and then stop
I just got the free trial for 30 days - this is the second day and it's not going great
i was planning on keeping the premium account after 30 days but if this can't get worked out then there is not point in my paying 10 bucks for radio on my mobile if i can't listen to it .
I can confirm this happens on the latest iPhone client (0.6.4.2 core 0.0.0.999) and the Mac client (0.9.0.128.g3134f863). The Android client (Galaxy SII 0.5.13.63 (0.7.1.5812.g77685925) takes forever to start. This has been happening since yesterday. The Android client was working until I upgraded, now I'm seeing the "takes forever to start" problem.
I am using Extreme quality, but I am also on 1Gbps symmetrical at home, and 50Mbps/less at work. I can stream 1080P video from AppleTV no problem, no wait at home. I can stream other HQ video from work just fine. Also, RDIO works just fine as well. It basically ruins the spotify experience for me. I haven't had to open up RDIO for a long time.
Please take a look into this. I'm coming from 67.180.0.x/17 and 204.14.154.x/24 at home.
Just paid for 3 months and can't seem to get the Radio feature to work right on my iPhone or Macbook Pro. Poor way to start off a paid subscription. Spotify needs to fix the problem soon or I am calling this a failure and will request a refund.
I get that same message on my iPod Touch 4th gen saying the station can't be played. Some stations will stop at the same point every time. Trying to replay them eventually gives me that can't be played message. If I try a day or 2 later it's often fixed.
multiple people have this problem - not understanding why there is not a solution and why no one is offering one.
radio stations won't play
they stop working randomly
ridiculous!
My problem is that some of my Radio playlist won't play other will play 3-10 songs then stop. When I restart the playlist that will work it will only play the same songs. This is effecting my desktop app also, which leads me to believe this is a issue on the server side. I have attached a video of what my iphone app is doing.
Radio is a big part of the way I listen and discover music that is why I paid for the service. If it does not work correctly then I'll take my business elsewhere.
YES! this is happening to me too! on my laptop i cannot thumbs up or down a song - it's totally on their side - i've done all the recommended steps and nothing has worked.
I ran into similar issues. I'm using an iPhone 5. The spotify ver. is 0.6.4.2. I tried uninstalling / reinstalling the app and it's doing the same thing. I can play albums just fine, but I love using the Radio feature. Really bummed that this isn't working right.
This is also happening to me too, I'm using an iPhone 4. Not happy.
I am also having this problem. I am trying Spotify as a replacement for Pandora since they imposed their 40 hr./month listening limit, and I'm currently in my free trial. Any of the radio stations I listen to will play maybe 5 or 6 songs and then dump me back out to the main radio menu. If I go back into the station, it will sit on the last song I played and not let me skip ahead, nor will it play any more songs. And the radio function is the entire reason I want to use Spotify. Help?!
Here is a fix from email support.
Try quitting Spotify and then deleting the stored internet cache on your phone.
Follow this with a soft reset of the phone, then log back into Spotify and give things another go.
I have not got to fully test it to see if the issue has be resolved.
UPDATE: Did not resolve my issue. Some Radio playlist won't play. Example: My Classic Rock playlist from the video has been loading for over 3 minutes now.
I'm having the exact same problem. On all 3 devices( Ipad, iphone , desktop) and my wife who has a seperate account is having the same issue for the last week at least
Radio will say station is not available - Ex a recommended station like Linkin Park.
Radio will play other stations like 90's - Plays the same 4 songs and stops.
Whats going on here? Seems like there is no acknowledgement from Spotify that an issue exists?
Almost been a week and I am still having issues with the Radio on both my iPhone app and desktop. I have requested a refund because the service is not working. Guess what? Haven't heard anything from Spotify customer service.
My radio is working correctly now. I didn't do anything at all to the app and this is the only place I voiced the problem. So I'm assuming they fixed whatever was wrong.
I noticed my radio started working today as well. It's been playing all morning without issue. It's weird it just started working for no reason, seemingly.
I have been playing the Radio iphone for the last couple of hours and it seems to be working now. I'll have to try my desktop later tonight.
This is music to my ears haha! My bug topic on this for the staff was getting massive!
