Remove last played song before closing

Is there a way to open Spotify and NOT have the last played song be on the queue? When I close the app on my iphone12, and don’t open again for at least a week, the song/playlist I last listened to is still there. Is there a way to delete the song before you close the app or have it go away when the app closes? Hopefully this makes sense, I don’t know how else to say it.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 

iPhone user here 🙂 What I usually do is simply closing the app and waiting some minutes till the system clears the app's cache automatically. If this doesn't happen like in your case at the moment, there might be some temporary issues wit the app or the iPhone's system. Regarding the app, have you already tried a clean reinstall? It usually does the trick in cases like this one.
