Selected song is not playing, and songs in playlist are not showing

So when I play a songs, I only get a preview of the song and the selected song is not playing, also the songs that I add to my playlist are not showing up... do I need to get premium now??

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

The Free version of Spotify doesn't fully support on-demand playback for individual songs, and instead lets you preview them by playing a short snippet. You can still listen to full songs in playlists/albums in shuffle mode by tapping the big green Play button at the top.

You also get up to 15 playlists that do support on-demand playback, meaning you can pick and play and track from the playlist you want. These are usually found under the Made for You section in Search.

As for the songs not showing up, I assume you meant that you only see a bunch of text comprised of the songs in your playlist when you open it. This again is because the Free version of Spotify doesn't fully support on-demand playback.

Hope this clears things up. In case you meant something else, please elaborate further so we can get a better idea of what's happening on your end. A screenshot / short screen recording would also be greatly appreciated.

you have to pay for skips, lyrics, add individual songs to playlists, see what songs are on a playlist, rewind, to not hear an add every 3 songs. the app is literally unusable for people who don’t have 10+ pounds to waste a month.
