Songs and playlists added years ago have replaced my new songs after install on new iphone

I have just installed Spotify on my new iphone and all of my new songs and playlist have gone and been replaced by playlists that I have made 2-3 years ago. I tried installing spotify (and re-installing - following the instructions here on spotify) on my mac but the same old playlists load and all of my newly added songs are gone.
