Spotify Connect and Airplay

I've done quite a bit of searching and, so far, haven't found the answer to my question. 

I recently purchased a Yamaha RX-V477 home theatre receiver that features Spotify Connect, something that, until I set it up, I was excited about.

Now I hate it! Why, you ask? Because it made Airplay go away. The only option I have on my iPhone for streaming Spotify tracks now is my home theatre receiver. This would be fine, except I have 5 airplay devices that I want to be able to stream to as well. For the moment, as long as my receiver is connected to the network, I can't stream anywhere else.

The easy solution is to disconnect my receiver from the network and use my Apple TV to stream music in my living room, but I really liked the ability to turn music on in my living room without having to find the blasted remote! Plus, the receiver has other network features I'd like to be able to use.

Anyone have any suggestions? The manual for the receiver doesn't mention any way of turning off Spotify Connect on that end, and I can't find any options on the phone end either.

The app checks for either connect or AirPlay on your local network, so I'm not really sure if there is a way to choose one or the other, or switch from one to the other. I don't have much experience using AirPlay.

I don't know if this can help.
On your remote device (ipad, iphone, etc) you should be able to choose your Spotify Connect play device in Spotify app; in this way you should be able to choose your phone instead of Yamaha avr.
When you are able to play from your phone you can swipe the bottom menu of iphone and select airplay to see airplay enabled devices, so select it, audio should be transferred from iphone to the selected airplay device.
