Spotify Connect: connection lost within 5 seconds after pause

My Question or Issue

I often use Spotify Connect to control my iPad, which is connected to my amplifier, from my Windows 10 based laptop. This always worked flawless but since very recently, when I pause, the Spotify client on my laptop loses the connection with the Spotify app on my iPad very quickly. Until a few weeks ago, this happened only so now and then and never within 10 minutes after pausing. Now, it is less than 5 seconds before the Spotify client for Windows doesn't 'see' my iPad anymore. As soon as I press play on the lock-screen of my iPad, the connection is restored.
