Spotify IOS not connecting to Desktop

For some reason my spotify and IOS device have not been in sync, I have been able to play different songs at the same time on my Desktop and on my phone and havent been able to link them together. My LastFM account has also not been detecting spotify plays, but it says on both of my spotify applications that I am online. I have tried reinstalling both but it still won't work. Any ideas?
