My Question or Issue

Every time I connect with both AirPods pros gen 2( left and right earbud ) or my AirPods maxes, Spotify plays for one second and disconnects my devices. This started happening 2 days ago and has been very annoying to deal with.My headphones on other apps on my phone and when paired to a different device like my Mac it works perfectly fine with the Spotify app.  I've tried clean reinstalling , forgetting and reconnecting my AirPods , restarting my phone , getting on a different account, however none of these worked in fixing this issue. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue on the spotify mobile app?

Hey @Picachu,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for sharing what steps you've done so far. It's really helpful.

Could you let us know if you noticed in case this behavior started to happen after something specific? A software or Spotify update for example?

If this only happens with Spotify on your iPhone, then it's very possible that the issue is with the app. Just to be on the safe side, have you followed these steps when it comes to the clean reinstall? They include clearing the cache which can cause different performance issues when it's corrupted.

Lastly, when you've connected your headphones, try disabling the automatic ear detection feature, to test whether Spotify would keep disconnecting them:

  1. Open Settings > Bluetooth on your iOS device.
  2. Tap the i next to your AirPods, then turn off Automatic Ear Detection.
  3. Test the Spotify app.

Let us know how it goes 🙂
