Spotify crashes when adding local files to playlist

On the most recent update of Spotify on my iPhone 5s, Spotify will crash whenever I attempt to add a local file into a playlist.

has there been a fix yet? This has never happened before!! Would love to move my local files around.

We are unable to replicate this problem (incl myself) if you're still having this problem, i'll recommend to create another playlists with local files only.

If not I'll recommend a clean reinstallation that will clear this up:
Click into your Spotify App -> Logout from Spotify (Spotify app Settings -> Logout) -> [If you are on premium and have songs that are on available offline, click here: https://www.spotify.com/sg-en/account/offline-devices/ and remove all devices -> Go to iPhone Settings, General, Usage and Delete the app -> Go to App Store and download the Spotify app again.

you might not be able to recreate it, but it happens to me as well - Everytime.

About the only work around it is to have my phone synced to my computer (even though the song is listed in the local files on Spotify and on my phone), add the song to the playlist you want on your computer, then resync that playlist on Spotify to your phone.

Pain in the ass that Spotify should fix

My guess is they somehow feel if artists don't want their music on Spotify then they won't accomodate users to easily be able to play the music using their app.  Thing is... it just makes me hate Spotify.  Over the last year, every update has more features, but more problems to work the kinks out. Eventually things seem to work like their suppose to, but not right away after the updates.  As is the case with this problem.

And reloading the app doesn't fix anything.

I'm also reluctant to update to the latest version because that not one of the bug fixes listed in the update and that's really the only problem I currently have.

2017 and I have crashed 7 times in a row trying to add my music from my harddrive to the local file section of the app. From what I see Apple Music allows the same thing but with no issue. What is the problem?

Same problem when I try to disallow Spotify to use local files like Downloads and WMP. Just crashes without error reporting or anything else.
