Spotify jumps like a scratched CD on iPhone 7

Hi,

i’m having an issue with iPhone 7 where songs randomly jump and sound like a scratched CD for a few seconds before going back to normal.

This happens on all outputs (headphones, Bluetooth etc) and I’m on Spotify premium.

It also happens on all songs (downloaded and those that are not), and whether I’m in or out of wifi. 

I’ve read other posts saying to turn off gapless playback and crossfade but this hasn’t helped. The other forums are generally for Samsung phones but this is happening on an iPhone. 

help please!

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I'll see what I can suggest next!

I'm also having this problem! It's most common when I'm using headphones or a bluetooth device like a speaker. I have restarted my phone multiple times, deleted and reinstalled the app twice and turned off crossfade and gapless playback. 

I have spotify version 8.4.**bleep** and an iPhone 8 Plus - it's so annoying!

Have you both tried performing a clean reinstall? 

If that doesn't work, could you please provide us with the following:

  1. OS version
  2. Spotify version?

What do you mean clean reinstall? Deleting the app and re-downloading? I will try this now and hopefully this works.


Just to note, the iOS version on my phone is 12, and the Spotify version is 8.4.71.578

Hi Peter,

 

My iOS version is 12.0 and Spotify version is 8.4.71.578

I've done a clean reinstall a couple of times, also removed the app, reset my iPhone and reinstalled - still no change.
