Spotify keeps skipping 7-8 songs at a time without my control?

I have Spotify premium. IPhone XS Max. I recently got a google home mini from their promotion. 

so I go to start my music, it skips 7-8 songs for absolutely no reason. One solution I tried was log out and force logout on all devices which fixed it for about a week now it’s back again. What is seriously happening? I can’t ****ing use premium like I’m meant to because of this. It keeps skipping every song til it’s into the radio, then it keeps skipping. I’m paying for this service and to not be able to use it is EXTREMELY infuriating. Nothing else has worked to fix this issue, whatsoever. And I’m not going to keep logging out every ten minutes to keep it from skipping again. What am I paying for?!
