Spotify on iPad dysfunctional

I search an artist and expect to find the artist with a list of the artit’s available albums and songs. Instead, my only search results are a few random playlists related to my search (with the name of artist in playlist name). Other issue: I try to play just a one full album of a selected artist (back when I was able to search an artist), but just the first song plays and then other unrelated songs from other artists play next. Very frustrating. Why is Spotify so unintuitive with such core functions?  Unrelated issue: Just now I try a search on the commmunty and the site crashes. Spotify on iPad seems to be a train wreck. What happened?
