Spotify streaming ""downloaded"" songs again. Goodbye

Spotify streaming ""downloaded"" songs again. Goodbye

Shorty before starting a 6-day trip tomorrow, I got a message from my service provider that I've maxed out my data again - but I've hardly used my phone for web browsing or other stuff in the last couple of days.

Of course, it just had to be Spotify downloading my already-downloaded tracks + cover art again. (300MB in 7 days) This is such a stupid bug and I don't understand why the dev team releases such a broken product.

Anyways, similar stuff has been reported numerous times here and after the average seamingly-friendly rockstar asks for more info once, customer service ends there.

Just in case someone cares: iPhone SE, latest iOS, latest Spotify version, offline mode NOT activated because I want to scrobble.

But scrobbling doesn't take a few hundred kilobytes per track - """downloaded""" tracks that are being streamed, do.

The only reason to stick to Spotify for me was the Last.fm integration, and I am really going to miss that but other than that I am looking forward to my 3-month Apple Music trial now. Let's see if they know how to code a simple if-statement, apparently Spotify can't.

Either this post didn't get posted properly 2 days or, instead of trying to help, they just removed it so I will just post it again 🙂
