Hi, if someone could help I would be very grateful.
I have downloaded Spotify (9.1.57 etc) within the last week onto my Mac (OS X Lion 10.7.5). It works fine on the Mac. I have the app downloaded on my iPhone 4, which also works fine (although the iPhone is not recognised by Spotify on Mac this doesn't matter to me since I can download playlists through wifi connection). My actual problem is that I bought a brand new iPod Nano (version 1.0.2 PC) and Spotify won't recognise it as a device. I obviously can't download the app on the iPod to get around the problem (like I did with the iPhone). So I'm stuck with no spotify on my iPod (where I actually want it!).
I have tried different ports on my mac, resetting the reuter, making sure Spotify was 'quit' properly and the iPod injected properly then redoing, and also turning my computer off and on.
My device is not jailbroken. I have 10 playlists. I'm in Australia.
And I'm trialling the Premium account, which I'll not follow through with if I can't get this resolved. Not a threat, it's just useless if a music app doesn't work with my music player.
I have tried searching your threads and FAQs, since it seems like a lot of people have this issue. But I haven't found a solution there so far.
Thank you,
Jess

Hi, and welcome to the community!
Firstly, are you trying to sync local files? As please note it is not possible to sync Spotify songs to non Ipod touches/iPhones, as the songs are encrypted such that only Spotify can play them, and iPod nanos/shuffles etc. don't have the app store so can't get the Spotify app.
Try running Spotify as an administrator, and make sure it is not in offline mode.
Also, try temporarily disabling your AV, as sometimes they stop the 2 from connecting.
Anthony 🙂

Ah, that bug is still going on? Forgot about it as it's been so long 😛

Thanks Anthony and Peter. At my earlier post point I just wanted Spotify to recognise the device, which it doesn't. I see from one of the threads that this is still an issue that they are trying to have updated.
However, yes, I wanted to use the offline function on my Nano. It's reasonable why this is not available - one of your threads explained this well. However, this really needs to be more explicit on the site. Like I said earlier, I read the FAQs and tried searching the forums and couldn't find a straight answer until you directed me to it.
Considering that I wanted to use this primarily through my iPod I won't be continuing with the service. But, again, thanks for your time and help.
Cheers,
j
Are you logged into the same account on your ipod that your PC is logged into?
