Switching Spotify Connect devices stops music and removes "now playing" bar

Switching Spotify Connect devices stops music and removes "now playing" bar

Plan: Premium (Duo)

Country: US

Devices: iPhone 13 Pro, iPad Pro 2021, Windows laptop, Wiim mini (connect device)

Operating System: iOS 17 Beta, iPad OS 16.6, Windows 10

Issue:

Whenever I'm listening on one device, selecting a different Spotify Connect device will completely remove any currently playing music. The now playing/control bar at the bottom of the screen disappears on iOS/iPad, and on PC it greys out with no way to resume the previous content. This is incredibly frustrating! It's also random - it could work fine for a few hours, then go back to behaving improperly.

The issue is most prevalent switching from iOS -> any other device.

App Updates: Ensure all your devices have the latest Spotify version installed. Operating System Updates: Check for updates on iOS 17 Beta, iPad OS 16.6, and Windows 10. Beta versions can sometimes have compatibility issues. Reinstall Spotify: Uninstall and reinstall Spotify on the affected devices. Network Connection: Ensure a stable and strong WiFi connection across devices. Log Out Everywhere: On the Spotify web portal, use the "Log out everywhere" option and then log back in on all devices. Check Spotify Community/Support: Search for similar issues in the Spotify community forums or contact Spotify support. Beta Version Issues: The iOS 17 Beta may have compatibility issues. Consider switching to a stable release. If the issue persis.
