Synchronise lokal files

Solved!

Synchronise lokal files

Hello,

When I synchronise my Ipad with spotify on my computer every playlist synchronises except for my local files. It says 'waiting' and there is also no switch in my local files palylist to make it available offline. Now I have no idea how to get my local files onto my Ipad and I'd really appreciate some help 🙂

Try putting all your local files into a new playlist, and sync that playlist.

Try this:

  1. Using the desktop app, add local music files you want to sync to a playlist. (I suggest naming this playlist Local FIles)
  2. Make sure your iPad is connected to the same WiFi network as your computer.
  3. Tap the Menu button button.
  4. Tap Your Music.
    Your Music button
  5. Tap Playlists.
    Playlists button
  6. Select the playlist containing the local music files and press the Available Offline switch at the top.
  7. Available offline slider
  8. A green arrow will appear next to the playlist when it is done syncing
    Offline sync green icon

Also, I suggest leaving the app open (turn off auto lock in iPad settings) because it can take a while to sync depending on how many local files you have. Sometimes syncing will stop when you close the app. Then turn auto lock back on when you are done.

Thanks you so much! It's still synchronising at the moment, but I think this will work 🙂

You're welcome

I can no longer sync my local files to my iPhone 5 because SPOTIFY remove "Devices" on their New Window PC update 1.0.2.6.g9977a14b! I use local filed songs in some of my off line Playlists. It says that if I own the song I can sync them. But now I can’t do this anymore because there is no “Devices” in the left side menu!!! How do I do this now???!!!

Please HELP!!!

The devices section will be coming back in a future update.

In the meantime:
You won't be able to see an indication in the desktop client that the device is paired with the desktop client. But as long as they both are on the same WiFi network you should be able to trigger the local files sync by toggling the offline toggle on the playlist on your device. Just make sure that the local files are in a playlist of their own so that this will work.
