My Question or Issue

Since the last update I have noticed that tapping the screen when the song has canvas no longer removes the UI to reveal bright video.

Thanks for the reports. 

 

Our teams have made some changes backstage and this should be fixed now. Make sure to update your app to the latest version available and let us know how it goes. 

 

We'll be on the lookout.

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Just to check, do you notice any difference after clearing stored cache? Make sure to log out from the app and then back in again once it's done. Completing these steps should resync your account info.

Another option is to do a clean reinstall, as this will clear cache too, as well as ensure that you're running the latest app version.

Shouldn't the above do the trick, could you send us a video showing how things look from your end? If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

Hi Maria,

 

I have tried those steps and this is still the same. My partner who has the same setup but with iPhone15 has the same issue. Please see the attached video. I am tapping the center of the screen during each song and the UI is persisting. Usually that action would hide the UI and display the canvas video fully.

I am having the exact same issue. Would love to fine the solution!  thank you all!

This function has not been working for days now, my friends are having the same issue. I tried troubleshooting with Spotify support chat for a long time and we couldn’t fix it. I really enjoy watching the canvases, I’d like to see this bug fixed. Anyone else having this issue?

Me too it just happened with the last update I can’t tap to made the play button disappear anymore 😮💨🙄

Same here for the past few days in the U.S. & it’s frustrating! Definitely miss this feature & hope it’s just a glitch that gets fixed soon.

Same here! Not working in France nor the Netherlands on multiple Apple devices running different IOS, so it must be an app issue! Let’s wait and see 🙂

just as additional information, I have an old iphone, with Spotify version 8.9.8.487, it still shows full screen canvases!  My current Iphone 15 is running Spotify version 8.9.64.456, no full screen canvases.  thank you to all who can help get this fixed! 

How many of us need to chime in on this now missing feature to get noticed?

Hey Team @Spotify 🙂 we need an update on this please ? Is this a bug or permanent ? (Hope it’s not as it was the best Spotify feature)

still broken on 8.9.66.462 with ios 17.6.1.

Unfortunately it still does not work on the new version…

I am using latest Spotify 8.9.66, on iPhone running not the latest 17.5.1... and it is working!  I am not going to upgrade iphone for now!  It is such a big difference to have this working!  Thank you all, I hope we all are having it work shortly!
