Unable to play any specific song

Device

iPhone 12 pro

Operating System

iOS 15.5

 

I am unable to play any specific song. When I search a song and click on play, it just plays a random song that too not from the same artist. Also I can no longer play a specific song from my liked songs,. Even when I play the playlist it plays a random song.

I have tried restarting the device and a fresh install but none of these do anything.

Hey there, thanks for asking in the community!

 

  1. Can you confirm if this is happening on just one device or all of your devices?
  2. Are the songs grayed out?
  3. Have you tried logging out and logging in again?
  4. Try turning off any VPN or DNS service (if you are using one).

It’s happening on all devices, songs are not greyed out. I already said that i have tried logging out and in and clean install as well. Not using any vpn or dns.

The described experience is how currently a free account is supposed to work. When you select a song, a similar song will be played. There are certain limitations with free accounts, which are not present on accounts with a Premium subscription. You can find out more on the differences between the subscriptions here
