Why I cancelled Spotify within 1 hour of paying for a premium trial.

I've used MOG for years...very happy. They've been purchased by Beats Music. Spent hours transferring my library to Beats...they managed to wipe it out after one week. Had to spend hours rebuilding. Very frustrating.

 

With the above experience under y belt, thought I'd try Spotify...

 

My experience withing 5 minutes of downloading the app to my iPhone;

 

1. There isn't any onviouse way to add an album to a library. Spent 20 minutes trying to find an answer...still don't have a clue.

2. Could not find a way to contact customer service. It appears the email address is well & truely hidden. Based on what I was able to figure out, we're supposed to create a username and use the forums to get customer service..how convient for Spotify.

 

When researching the "how do I add an album to a library" question on Google, one of the first listings is for a Dummies book for using Spotify.

 

Pay attention Spotify...if someone has to create a book to teach people how to use a simple music service...you're doing it wrong.

 

A good website is an intuative website. If your customers can't easily figure out how to create a music library...you've lost the plot.

 

I've spent 45 minutes trying to figure out what should have been easy.

Spotify does have a form you contact them athttps://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/

The community can mostly help with any problem, except account and billing issues, as they are usually redirected to the contact form since we don't have the ability to help with those issues.

 

For adding albums, currently you can only save them as playlists. "Your Music" is currently being beta tested which is the ability to have a collection of music. See here.
