Why audio normalization lowers too much the volume? Please solve this

Why audio normalization lowers too much the volume? Please solve this

I don't know why the audio normalization lowers too much the volume of all the songs, in normal audio normalization.

Is there something to do about it? Maybe a software update for improving the normal volume or the algorithm of audio normalization.

Thank you.

Hey @Highway190,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

According to information in the Spotify For Artists FAQ on Loudness Normalization, (what it is and why it's used and what each level of it means, as well as how it's calculated), the current settings aim to preserve the sound's original dynamic (which requires managing the sound's loudness).

If you'd like to present your feedback (as well as any specific ways you believe such settings could be improved) as an Idea for Spotify, make sure to follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Spotify Community
  2. Click on Menu
  3. Click on Ideas > Idea submissions
  4. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on Let’s go

As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an Idea gets, the more likely it is for the Idea to be implemented. If you wish to learn more about how your feedback will reach Spotify, feel free to take a look at this article.

Hope you'll find this info useful. Have a nice day!

The only way I found to improve the audio experience (including the low frequency range, bass sounds) is to disable the audio normalization feature which flattens the audio dynamic range.
