Why do I keep seeing U2's new release on my homepage?

Why do I keep seeing U2's new release on my homepage?

I do not like U2.

So why is their new release always displayed on my homepage/feed, every day for the last few days? No other new release is being featured there - only U2's!

This is terrible. Why on earth is Spotfiy pushing something on my own feed that I have zero interest in? I should be seeing releases that actually interest me, artists that I follow. Not U2.

Hello,

It can be frustrating when a music streaming service like Spotify doesn’t seem to align with your personal tastes, especially when it repeatedly features an artist you’re not interested in. Spotify’s recommendation algorithm typically uses your listening history to curate your homepage and feed. However, it can sometimes promote new releases or popular content broadly to users, which might explain why you’re seeing U2’s new release prominently.

Here are a few steps you can take to try and tailor your Spotify experience more to your liking:

Dislike the Track or Artist: If you see a song by U2, use the “dislike” or “don’t play this” option. This feedback can help adjust the algorithm to your preferences.
Exclude from Taste Profile: You can exclude certain artists from your taste profile by tapping the three dots menu on the artist’s page and selecting “Don’t play this artist” or "Exclude from taste profile".
Private Listening: When listening to something you don’t want to influence your recommendations, start a private listening session. This prevents the activity from affecting your recommendation algorithm.
Optimize Your Feeds: Regularly interact with the music you enjoy and actively follow artists you like to help Spotify better understand your preferences.

I hope my suggestion is helpful for you.

Best Regard,
