Why is Now Playing seldom accurate?

Playing from iphone, the correct song seldom shows up on the desktop app player. 

It always seems to be stuck on previously played queues. Even quitting and restarting makes no difference.

I even updated the desktop app this morning and the problem still persists. This is not good enough!

Please fix it.

Thanks for posting in the Community and the troubleshooting already tried.

Just to be on the safe side, could you perform a clean, more thorough reinstall (if you haven't done so already) of both the desktop and mobile apps as described here?

Sometimes the network can lead to such experiences. This is why it's worth trying to reproduce the issue with a different internet connection. How did that go?

Is the experience consistent even with a different account?
