all my downloaded saved albums have been deleted

This is not the first time this has happened. All my saved albums that were downloaded are now saved, but not downloaded. I have also noticed (before albums were mysteriously deleted) an inconsistancy between the 'download' switch and the 'downloaded' status. Meaning even when the songs were saved and downloaded (as indicated by the arrow icon next to the track), the 'download' switch was set to off. How can I re-download all my albums without individually going through every single one? More importantly, how can I make sure this NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN?
