They only work if i have downloaded them to play offline, why can't i stream??

What iOS device+version and spotify version are you running?
Probably worth trying a quick Clean reinstallation of Spotify.
What connection are you streaming over (i.e. WiFi or 2/3/4G LTE)?

Hi - i have this issue as well - have uninstaleed and reinstalled three times / done a hrd reset etc etc
i am a premium member on vodafone 4g
also many tracks just dont play at all - they seem to load then nothing - all this from streaming -
please help - i had heard such good things about spotify and so far have been really unimpressed
I'm using the free version on my iphone 5s, at first everything was great, music played over wifi and 3G, then after about 15mins music stopped and wont start again. The app seems to be working, I can browse for songs etc but when I try to play them no sound is played.
Re-installing doesnt fix it. Hoping it to be server related and a fix coming soon.
UPDATE: Just got it working again by going into setting and clearing the history and cookies and data for Safari, then deleted spotify app and reinstalled. (lets see how long it continues to work)
Do you get any error messages @baldeagle_UK ?
I've found turning my device off and on again sometimes fixes these issues.

i did the same and it worked for about 5 minutes - then the same issue has come back
I would say that about 85/90% of tracks dont play - some just dont load, most say unable to play track -i am a premium customer -on 4g - so why is this happening . its very frustrating.....
