[iOS][Playlists] Spotify Carplay bug with nested playlists

[iOS][Playlists] Spotify Carplay bug with nested playlists

Hi,

When using Spotify with Apple Carplay, I have noticed that the Spotify app can't handle nested playlists. This is the view in my desktop client:

Capture.PNG

When opening the playlists in the Carplay app, I can't browser any deeper into the structure than Egna->Blandade, and then it's only empty. Don't have a picture at the moment, but I can try to make a short film about how it looks.

Also, the background on "Now playing" in Carplay should IMO include more of the album art.

Seeing this same issue.  2016 VW, iPhone 6s, latest rev of iOS and Spotify.  Spotify shows folders in list, but clicking into the first level shows a blank screen.  (Interestingly, I can tap where a playlist would be, and the spinner icon shows, but nothing happens.)

Subscribed.  Same issue here.

I went through 4 workarounds to get around Spotify's stupid limitations and make it work in my car, then I ended up with this bug and gave up. It's been months then and still nothing, Spotify is unusable with Carplay. 😞

Doing my very best to hit "me too" but that's not working.  Not seeing any responses to this thread. What's going on here? Is there any plan to resolve? Bottom line; spotify/carplay doesn't work as nested playlists are the default construction for manageable playlists.  All my playlists are nested. Therefore, all my playlists do not work on carplay.

Very poor.

I discontinued my subscription when Spotify removed the ability to shuffle across playlists. That, combined with nesting playlists, was what I was paying for.

Now I use Apple Music. Not perfect either, but the Siri integration is really convenient in the car.

I see where you're coming from. Shuffle across nested lists works from the desktop app - then can be "continued" on the iPAD as the playlist is generated.  It's nonsense to me that functionality is not consistent across platforms.

I came to Spotify having been a GooglePlay Music subscriber from its inception. I'm starting to regret it.  Messing with functionality (i.e. removing functions with impunity as it "is too much effort to maintain") is an absolute no-go.

Truly. I'm in the software business myself, and my company is extremely reticent to remove functionality, as it infuriates customers.
