My Question or Issue
This has been happening for a few weeks now, maybe a month or longer. A few songs will play and the app crashes suddenly, I try to re-open the app and play the song it left off on but it will crash a few seconds into the song. I have tried resetting, uninstall and reinstall, clear cache, and logging out. None have helped fix this issue, even after many updates from both iOS and Spotify. I noticed this issue began happening after my Premium expired. Help, Please?
Thanks for the reply @Nizzi!
Does the crash happen with the same song from the list or just randomly? Are the ads able to play normally or does the issue around them?
Do you have any ad-blocking or battery optimizing apps on your phone and if you do, can you try turning them off?
We appreciate your patience and cooperation with this so much!
Cheers!
Hi Elena,
i haven’t any app for battery or adblock, it stop randomly, not at the same song and not tag a specific time.
non i upgrade my account to premium, i santi to try what happening.
thanks
Hi again @Nizzi,
Thanks for getting back to us!
Just to confirm, have you already tried a clean reinstall of the app? This could be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.
Also, could you try starting this playlist from a different Spotify account, such as a friend's or relative's to see if the same thing happens?
Keep us posted.
Hey @Nizzi,
Thanks a lot for keeping us in the loop.
If possible, could you give it a try using another internet connection just to see what happens?
It would also be helpful to know the exact iOS version and the exact Spotify version you're currently running. This will help us investigate further and report this issue if needed.
Keep us posted.
Hello this also has been happening to me as well I tried everything that you told the others to do and nothing
Hi again @Nizzi,
Thanks for your reply.
We're glad to know that it was sorted out and appreciate all the info you shared with us. Regarding the app version, the latest one for iOS right now is 8.6.30, so that's the one you should be running. In case you're running an older version and you're having trouble updating it, try restarting your phone. If it persists, send us a screenshot of any error messages you're seeing on your end to take a better look.
On another note, if the issue with the app crashing returns or if you need a hand with anything else, feel free to reach out to the Community again. We'll be happy to help.
Cheers!
I thought toggling the "Background app refresh" on/off fixed the issue but it is still happening. Even with latest version 8.6.44, on iPhone 11 ver. 14.6. Carrier is AT&T. Song just stops randomly and then I have to push play and it starts the song over.
Hi @1239280556,
Thank you for getting back to us.
To start, let us know if you've already tried performing a clean reinstall of the app. This is often an overlooked step, but it’s more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.
Also, can you log in with another account, such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persists?
Lastly, we'd like to know if this happens only on the app, or if it also happens on the Web Player.
Keep us posted!
