iOS app v8.9.38 crashes anytime the Play Queue is checked

iOS app v8.9.38 crashes anytime the Play Queue is checked

This happens anytime I have multiple songs queued to play as soon as the currently playing song finishes and it tries to check the queue for the next song. It also happens if I tap the "Play Queue" button to try and see the queue. The resulting experience is that I can only play a single song at a time and have to actively hit play on every song I want to listen to. This is extremely frustrating.
My phone is an iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS v17.4.1. I only experience this on the iPhone, not on desktop (Windows and macOS) or on the web player. I am a Premium subscriber.
I've tried clearing data and a full reinstall and neither has helped.

Hey there @CodeAndData! Welcome to the Spotify Community. I'm happy to help you!

It looks like your device is running an outdated version of Spotify since the latest version on the App Store is 8.9.40. Can you update the app to the latest version and let me know if the issue still happens?

Looking out to your reply,
/Mateus

Outdated is a stretch. Last version update was just over a day ago. Also, I notice Spotify is really phoning it in on release notes. 😕

I'll update and report back.

Hi @CodeAndData,

Thanks for your reply.

Are you still experiencing this behavior after the update? If so, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. This is a more complete process, and you can give it a try, in case you haven't done it yet.

If that doesn't help, could you try logging in with a different account on that device to check if you have the same issue? If you don't have another account, you can ask a relative or friend to log in with theirs and check. Additionally, could you check if it happens both with WiFi and mobile data?

We'll be here.
