iPhone/Alexa issue

iPhone/Alexa issue

Hello

wondering what help I can get. I use Alexa to play lullaby music for my daugther and son at bedtime or her nap time. Sometimes at night when I’m at work I like to listen to my podcast but soon as my partner asks Alexa to play music it cuts me off. Is there absolutely no way I can listen to my stuff without it cutting me off whilst having the lullaby music on

my son is 3 and daughter is 1, so not an option for separate devices/accounts

I thought getting family premium would help but it’s just a waste of money now if it doesn’t help with this

Hi there @shannonpew,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

You can't use a Spotify account on two devices at the same time. This is because each account is personal and should not be shared. So in order to avoid this from happening you can link the Alexa to a different account and not your personal one.

You mention having Premium Family, which means you can add 5 accounts to your plan. So you can link one of those extra accounts to the Alexa. This way, you can play your music at work while your toddlers listen to their music at home on Alexa. As you will be using different accounts, the playback won't be interrupted. You can check out how to invite members to the Family plan with this info. And you can check how to unlink Spotify accounts from the Alexa app here
