someone logged into my account and it messed up my listening history.

someone logged into my account and it messed up my listening history.

Recently, somebody logged into my account and started listening to their own music on it. I changed my password and it kicked them off, but now my entire listening history and my recommends are completely off-track. what can i do to fix this? is it possible to delete their songs from my history?

Hey @cyberp1ush,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.

Listening history consists of the songs that you've listened to in the past and it's currently not possible to remove or delete items from this section.

Regarding your recommendations - what you can do is listen to more music via the Search option and make sure that Private Session is switched off. If you do that - you should start seeing new recommendations in the coming weeks.

There is also a feature called "Exclude from Taste Profile" and it's now available on all platforms. There's more info about the topic in our Steps by Stars article. We'd suggest that you give it a try and you shouldn't be receiving irrelevant song suggestions in the future.

While there's currently no way to manually reset your recommendations, we'd suggest you give this idea a thumbs up, if this is something you'd like to see implemented in the future. Please note that even if an idea is currently set to “Not Right Now” you can still add your vote there as we revisit those ideas on regular intervals! If you're interested in how ideas work and how your feedback reaches the right teams here, check this page out.

In addition, to prevent this from happening in the future, there are many measures you can take to protect your account (such as resetting your password every few months and not using passwords you have used on other sites). There is also a great guide here with some more tips for securing your account.

Hope you'll find this useful. If you ever have any other questions in the future, feel free to post in the Community again 🙂
