So, I've been on a paid family plan for a long while now. I got a new android phone several days ago and installed spotify, listened for a few days and everything was good. Just yesterday, though, it started showing the advertisement popup for me to "Go Premium" with an option for "Later". When I click later it goes away, but repops up constantly, usually when i switch back to spotify from doing something else. Thing is, I DO have premium already. I checked on the website to make sure, and I still am able to download playlists and use all my premium features, but I just get the popup constantly nonetheless. My wife is running it on her iPhone without the same popup problems.
I've tried reinstalling spotify and it seemed to work for a small period of time, but just started doing it again.
Any ideas why this popup is occuring and how to get rid of it? Makes the experience quite frustrating.
