Default Screens when opening Spotify

Recently (perhaps around June?), I noticed that when opening spotify on my mobile, the default load screen is either the new/suggested artists home page if I am online, or the black "you are offline" message. Previously, opening Spotify would launch into whatever my last state was (i.e., My offline Library's previously played album). Before, I would launch Spotify, have my most recent play displayed, click play, and be on my way. Now, I have to navigate to the menu, My library, Artists, then scroll to find my previously loaded artist, then scroll to find the previously loaded album, and then be on my way. It is the same number of clicks if I am presented with the offline message. I realize that I am offline in that I activated Offline Mode, so that in and of itself is a rather frustrating notification.

I do realize how small of an issue this is, but at the same time I find it a reasonable matter of expectation for convenience considering the service is a paid subscription. I drive a lot for my work and travel, and because of this I do not like to manually navigate my phone app menus any more than necessary to listen to music when before it would just be available where I left off from my access the time previous. This was not an issue until recently, so perhaps I have overlooked a setting change?

Have I missed an update detail or a setting that I may have inadvertantly changed to bypass the now default screens? Is there a preference setting to change this?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may be able to offer.

❤️
