Hello!
Since a few month (I think since March) I got a really really slow responsing app. I primary use my smartphone with Android but it also apprears on my iPad, so it isn't really device linked.
Brief description of the issue: The app loads and interacts very slow. The start of the app takes at least up to one minute.
Loading playlists and folders takes also up to 25 seconds.
If I then start a track from Spotify itself it starts the playback soon (circa 5 seconds delay since touching the song). But if I start a track I copied locally the start takes circa 25 seconds. But the shown information in the list or song information isn't still correct then. This takes up to 20 seconds additional. In this time it isn't possible to switch to another track or change the folder or playlist.
If I skip to the next track it takes 10 seconds to start.
The long loading times of the playlists and folders is always there, it doesn't matter if there are only local files, just Spotify files or mixed files.
Steps to reproduce the issue: Every time I'll start the app and want to listen to some music!
What steps you’ve tried already: Log out and log in again, clear all app data, uninstall the app, reboot and the install it completely new. No changes.
It also takes no chance if I'm connected via mobile network (LTE, UMTS, ...), WiFi, switch the mobile data off or switch the app into the offline mode.
Your device and operating system: OnePlus One with CyanogenMod 13.1.1 (Android 6.0.1) and also an Apple iPad 4th generation with iOS 9.3.4
Type of Spotify account you have (Free/ Premium): Premium
The app version of Spotify you’re using: Android: 6.0.0.864 armV7, iPad: 5.7.0.1055
Any screenshots, if they can help to explain your issue:
The first screenshot (everything black except the hamburger menu) is the view I got at starting the app. It remains up to 1 minute.
The second screenshot is if the app has started and if you want to load a playlist or the home view or anything else. This screen remains up to 25 seconds per folder or playlist.
I also notified that there is only very rare network connection, only up to 50 KB/s. So the internet connection shouldn't be the bottleneck, but the devices get very hot. Playing songs and also charging the iPad didn't affect the akku, the percentage stands over hours still.
I've no idea where this all came from but it spreads over multiple devices and operating systems, so it couldn't just be a local problem.
Looking for ideas and solutions 🙂
