I couldn't find another way to make this suggestion to Spotify's support team so here's my idea: Spotify should not recommend songs that promote date rape.
I was shocked and disgusted when Ben Taylor's "Wicked Way" popped up in my "Discover Weekly" section. Firstly, it is an undeniably lame song. It's unoriginal melody makes you want to snooze right into a coma, which may explain my next point of concern: the lyrics. Here's a taste of some of the best parts:
These lyrics promote the sort of normalized violence against women that so many people view as acceptable. Spotify has a responsibility to not actively participate in the promotion of that culture.
