A new problem has started last week when using google voice commands to use Spotify. This is using a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and a bluetooth connected head unit.
Normally, you activate the assistant and ask 'Play *song* by *artist* on spotify'. Which is then followed by a voice confirmation from the google app along the lines of 'Playing *Song* by *artist* on spotify' - and the music will start playing.
This since last week has stopped working. Now immediately following the voice confirmation that the song will start playing another voice command is played 'Sorry, something went wrong. Please try opening the Spotify app to continue.'
Up until last week it has worked fine for over a year with no issues, regardless of whether the phone is locked or unlocked. All other voice commands work fine, call someone, tell me the weather, traffic info, etc. Only Spotify is having an issue. It appears that somehow google can't open the spotify app anymore. Which is a real pain in the a** when driving!
Cache cleared, uninstalled/reinstalled app, unlinked/linked account again - nothing has helped.
