My Question or Issue
When I press the pause button in the Spotify Android app, it often does not respond and the song keeps playing for up to a few minutes. Even when I close the app (closing it within the recently used apps screen), the song will sometimes still keep playing too. The only way to consistently make it stop is to force stop the app. In addition, sometimes the song ends and does not proceed to the next song on the album/in the playlist or queue. Overall, this is quite a hassle - I have to hurry to mute my device if I need to stop listening to music and the app doesn't respond, or sit in silence while I wait for the next song to take a minute or so to load.
I think this may be an extension of my Spotify app's difficulty connecting to the internet in general. About 1/3 of the time, and 100% of the time when either of the above problems occur, Spotify does not think that it is connected to the Internet and is suddenly unable to load anything in the app, even the it is always connected to wi-fi or data.
These problems have continued to bother me for several years, ever since I first got an HTC One m8 in 2015. The only time the app has worked properly was for about a week right after I got my Galaxy s8. This is very frustrating when the app appears to work fine on every other device, and when any/all other music streaming apps work perfectly.
If it matters, I have always received service from Verizon.
