My Question or Issue
Playing music on my Sonos speakers or Chromecast has been flaky since upgrading to Pie. Once I've been playing music on one of my devices (Sonos or Chromecast) through the Spotify app for a while, the app seems to forget that it's connected to the device.
Symptoms:
- the eigth song from a playlist will be playing on the device, but the Spotify app still thinks that the 2nd song is playing.
- Play / pause / skip track controls become unresponsive
- I'm unable to switch back to playing the music on my phone.
- When I open up "Devices Available", I don't see any of my Sonos devices, only my Chromecast device.
- Even though it shows up under "Devices Available", I can't send music to the Chromecast device.
If I force close the Spotify app (swipe up from the 'recent apps' screen), things seem to go back to normal. I can send music to any of my devices as expected. But after music has been playing over one of my devices for a while, the buginess comes back.
Since this is happening with both Sonos and Chromecast, it seems like the issue is specific to Spotify.
Any help would be really appreciated!
