Free/Premium
CountryHi, can somebody please enlighten me. I have a Premium subscription set to very high quality. I am using an ipad and streaming to a Yamaha WXC50 preamp/streamer using Music Cast. When I select Spotify from the Yamaha Nusic Cast app it connects to Spotify with “Spotify Connect”. I read that Spotify uses Ogg Vorbis compression but the Yamaha streamer specs do not include an Ogg Vorbis decoder. The Music Cast app reports a connection “PCM 44.1Khz” my question is, what file format is Spotify sending to the Yamaha as I assume it must have been converted from Ogg Vorbis? How does this affect sound quality?
