Hi all, my issue here is a really strange one and I'm not sure how it can be fixed.
(Important context) I've been using Spotify Premium for years now and I listen to a lot of Japanese music through the service. All the Japanese music(1,000+ songs) I have collected over the years were in my local files and I had no issues with syncing/downloading/playing them onto my phone until something big happened.
What happened was Japan obtained access to Spotify and a lot of the artists I listened to started adding their music onto the service.
So what's the problem then?
Well the issue that I started having was most of my music was becoming unplayable on my phone. I couldn't play music on my phone that I was just able to play previously. So I read up on the issue [https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Local-Files-won-t-play-on-mobile/m-p/1304984/highlight/true...] and I think I've discovered the two issues that cause this.
1. If the data from my local file doesn't perfectly match the version that the artist put up on Spotify it won't allow me to play the file on my phone and only my phone.
2. Even if I find and try to replace the song(ditch the local and replace it with the Spotify official version) on the Artist's page I run into the issue of Region Lock. Due to the fact that I do not live in Japan I can't play the official song(on desktop or phone).
Basically I can't listen to my music on my phone or replace it with the working version because my region is the United States. I can't find any way around this and it's frustrating me to the point where I'll probably use a different service unless they can figure this issue out in the future.
Sorry if this is long and over explained, I've just never seen anyone else with this exact issue and wanted to make sure I covered every aspect. Please help! I don't want to give up on Spotify!
