My Question or Issue
The incidents happened to me twice, which should be reproduced by the following steps:
1. Pair phone with Bluetooth speaker A;
2. Play music on higher volume, say 10/10;
3. Pause playback and use phone for other purposes for a few hours;
4. Switch bluetooth to Bluetooth earbuds B, with volume previously set lower, say 2/10, before paring with device A;
5. Resume playback either on phone or watch;
6. Built-in control center (iOS) on phone displays volume for B as 2/10; Adjusting volume on phone's control center works correctly, from 2/10 to 3/10, 1/10, then back to 2/10;
7. Spotify app/widget on Apple Watch displays volume (bars) of device B as 2/10, which seems correct and consistent with iOS;
8. Lower volume within Spotify App on Apple Watch by rotating the crown, with the intention to adjust volume from 2/10 to 1/10;
9. Spotify on Apple Watch instantly changes volume display (bars) to 10/10, raises the actual volume of B raised to 10/10, which is super loud for device B (ear buds).
From what I observed and heard, Spotify on Apple Watch assumed the wrong starting volume in response to crown rotation when there were more than one Bluetooth devices, which can pose harm to users' hearing condition.
Obviously, I have to stay away from volume control on Spotify on Apple Watch until I gain confidence that it can handle it correctly, because it is more than an unpleasant experience.
