My Question or Issue
Spotify plays public playlist when asked to play personal playlist using google assistant.
=== REPRODUCE: ===
* Start google assistant (ok google or press, etc)
* Say "play my playlist gabbledagook" (or use another esoterically named playlist that you actually have)
EXPECTED:
Spotify realizes I want to play my playlist (diligently searches among my playlists)
Spotify finds (the bizarrely named) playlist gabbledagook, instantly sees that there can be no contest as to what is to be played,
Spotify plays my playlist, named gabbledagook.
(User is happy and goes on jogging, setting a new PB. Spotify is happy to have helped the user.)
ACTUAL: (tldr: spotify plays other/public playlist)
Spotify elects to disregard that I want to play one of my own playlists.
Spotify puts great effort into finding another playlist named similarly to mine, and - after some intense processing - is successful (!).
Spotify proudly starts to play a public playlist I have never in my life heard of, navigated to or listened to, most likely containing (to me) downright offensive music.
(Spotify smugly summarizes a great win for itself with this virtual middle-finger gesture, thinking "GREAT SUCCESS! *p yours, you lowly user - thanks for the money.... luuuuser!"
I sigh, have to stop my run, get the phone out and start fiddling with the freaking UI, only to be subjected to other whimsical spotify behaviors. Gah!)
EPILOGUE:
This has been an issue for four years. Please consider fixing it! 🙂 The interwebs abound with reports on this problem - but I think this "funny joke" is getting dated. C'mon, lets make it play the music lists I have collected, MY playlists!
(...cue dramatic inspirational and visionary (film)music - whereupon the spotify devs are elated and instilled with a great sense of purpose and implement a wondrous fix for the MY playlists/music problem.
The population of planet earth goes wild, the roaring is incredibly heard all the way out into space... where it sadly attracts the attention of the Primes over at Dyson Alpha. Doom and adventure... ok, I'll just stop here)
