Is it possible to disable volume syncing between devices?

The iOS Spotify app hijacks the volume control and set the volume to 100% when I am listening on desktop and I open the app on my phone.

If I’m playing something in the background on my phone, Spotify still sets the volume to 100% on my phone. Who thought this is a good idea?

The “Devices Lock Screen” setting under “Settings > Devices” does not help because it only disables volume syncing outside of the app.

It’s only a matter of time until someone gets hearing damage because of this bug.

Scenario: 

• I’m playing music with Spotify on my desktop.
• I’m also watching YouTube on my phone in PiP.
• If I open the Spotify app on my phone, it immediately raises the volume to 100%. RIP ears.

Please let me know if there’s a way to disable it completely. This is a legitimate health hazard.
