I've had Spotify premium for close to a decade now. I love exploring music, but I'm mostly interested in pretty niche genres, so I have to get creative in my approach to finding them.
There are resources online for exploring genres, but they don't really work for exploring artists that no one has really heard of.
Every Noise at Once was the solution to that. It had a massive amount of specific genres where you could get a preview of a popular song within that genre, and if you clicked in, you would see a page full of both prominent and niche artists within it.
Every few weeks I'd go through Every Noise for a couple hours and round up interesting artists to explore until next time. I have no other way of finding these artists other than trying to find reddit posts where people are shouting out small artists, or scouring Bandcamp for new releases.
Not to mention the dedicated section for new releases by genre, I used that one quite a bit as well.
I'm disappointed that there is no way of exploring unknown artists now anymore, it was amazing to have a tool that anyone could use to explore and find niche artists without any hassle. Playlists and communities can work well for sharing music with each other, but that doesn't work for artists no one has heard of.
