Can't remove payment method

Can't remove payment method

Hi,

 

I'm from the Netherlands and i hope you can help me.

 

I want to remove my payment method (PayPal) from my account so i can change it to another sort of payment (long story, included in my TV & Internet account from the provider, got a code from them but to change it i need to switch to free first).

 

But whatever i do in my account, i can't remove it! I can click many times, but the paypal account won't go away!

 

What to do?

Hi, is it a standard premium code? Have you tried redeeming it at http://spotify.com/redeem?

 

If it isn't, or that doesn't work, then you have to go to http://spotify.com/account/subscription and cancel your current subscription - then you should be able to remove your payment method.

That's not it, unfortunatly.

I don't need to redeem my code, it's just a new code that i can activate once my account is on free.

 

I tried to remove my current payment method on the link you also mentioned, but that won't work. Tried it more then 10 times but my payment method is still the same. Even after a few days (maybe they need to refresh there systems or whatever but that wasn't it).

 

Any other ideas? I don't want to loose my music!

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

 

If you are attempting to move your account over to a Spotify partner for premium, then you need to cancel your premium subscription from your online profile, then remove your card details (since you can't do it when you have an active subscription) and then wait for your account to revert to Spotify free before adding your partner code since they can't activate your account whilst you already have an active subscription.

The only thing i can find is canceling my account, i am afraid that i will loose all my music that way...

Your playlists will remain on your account no matter what subscription plan you are on, so you shouldn't loose anything in that sense. There might however be a small delay between your account reverting to free and your new premium activating meaning you might need to resync any offline content you have downloaded.
