Can't sign into the Spotify site.

Hello!

As the title states, I can't sign into the Spotify site. It keeps giving me the error message, "Incorrect username or password."
I can login to the Spotify app on my computer and on my phone with the exact same credentials as I'm trying to use on the site.

I have tried to change the password on Facebook since it's linked there but it still won't work. When I press the "Login in with Facebook" button on the login page it just sits at "Logging in with Facebook..."
If I try to change my password through the Spotify site it just tells me to go to Facebook.

I have tried restarting my browser, removing the permission on Facebook, using another browser, using another computer, signing out of Facebook, signing out of the app on both my phone and on the computer, cleared my browser cache and history, and nothing have worked!

I'd really appreciate it if someone was able to help me.

Hi TheCratcher - I can confirm your account is active and healthy. You certainly shouldn't be having this much trouble logging in.

Can you confirm you're using your 'snuggleduck' username and not your email address. Please give that a try if you haven't already.

I have the same problem with a twist.  Even changed my facebook password again !  Still get same error message when I try to download a playlist from nytimes/magazine.  Then, when I go to Spotify site in a different browser window, I can log in.  But in the other window, can't log in.  Just get same error message over and over.

I am having a similar issue, I know my password hasn't changed but I can't log on this morning. I entered my email for a password reset thirty minutes ago and still haven't received it. My mobile is working fine.

TheCratcher – Without the email address linked your account I can’t look at your account to be sure everything’s in order. Please head over the contact form so we can take a look.

NancyJane – Are you able to sign into your desktop app without any problems then? Are there any special characters in the FB passwords you’re using?

Scorpia – As you joined via Facebook you can’t do a password reset through our website. You’ll to head to the FB website to request a password change.

If you’re still unable to sign in after that password change please let me know.

I can log in automatically on my desktop thru facebook.  Yes, I have a special character in my facebook password.

I see--this might be reason you've had some trouble.Please try temporarily changing your Facebook password to something short and simple (without any special characters).

So Spotify nowadays not only requires you to have a Facebook account but also to use a less secure password on your Facebook account?

This is a temporary troubleshooting step so that the user can sign into the website ASAP. Of course passwords can be complex--I'm looking into this now.

I've had the same problem for over a month now. I have two accounts. This one which is my sister's and that isn't linked to facebook and the newest one I made after spotify required signing in with facebook. I had my password reset, more than once, I ve waited even some time between the changes.... And well here I am because there is still no change.

I can't login from my computer desktop app, I can't login in any browser and changing computers do not change a thing.

 When I try logging in from the desktop app the error message says it is the wrong username or the wrong password which obviously it isn't. The facebook authorization works fine. When I try from Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, it tells me that if I don't have a spotify username I should create one because the facebook account isn't linked to a spotify one.

Then, to make the matter even more complicated, I created another facebook account, (today) but I can't connect to spotify with it. Whether I try to connect from the main page 'connect with facebook button' or from the desktop app I get an error message stating it isn't linked to an account which is true. So I try to create one. It fails because even though the pop up with the facebook login shows up, it then closes after I connected and the inscription doesn't go further.

HI sugarandspice - Sorry to hear you've been having this problem logging in. I'm sure we can help sort this out.

However I'll need to know your email address as this account is linked to your sister's. If you drop us an email via the contact form we can confirm those details securily (not on the public forum).

I am having the same issue - Saying that t looks like you are using your FB credentials to log in to Spotify. To change your FB password go to your settings page at Facebook.

Created an App password in FB - still same error message? Helllp!!

I'm having the exact same problem like the cratcher I can sing in on the app but not in the spotify website.

I wonder if anyone can help me please I have been putting on the correct email address /username and password into my spotify account and it keeps saying that the email and password combination doesn't match a spotify account can anyone please help many thanks
