Can you tell me why I got an alert for a new device when it's the same one

I'm using the same device and received an alert from Spotify that a new device was accessing my Spotify account. Not true. It was me on the same device.

Hi there, and thanks for reaching out!

Well, there are a few possible reasons for this:

1. Change in Network or IP Address: If you switched networks (e.g., from Wi-Fi to mobile data) or your internet provider reassigned your IP address, Spotify might interpret this as a new device or location. This is usually harmless, but if you use a VPN, try disconnecting or ensuring the VPN uses a consistent IP address.

2. App Reinstallation or Update: If you recently reinstalled the Spotify app or updated it, the app might register as a "new" device, triggering the alert. I suggest you to verify that you were logged out after the update and re-login if needed. This should resolve future alerts.

3. Spotify Account Sync Issue: Sometimes, Spotify might not recognize a device due to an internal syncing issue, leading to incorrect alerts. Just log out of all devices via the Spotify website and log back in on your main device. This will refresh connections.

Let me know if you'd like guidance on any of these steps!
