Change Plan Manager

Change Plan Manager

I have Premium Duo with my wife - She is the plan manager.
She doesn't use the audio books, but this is only available to the plan manager.
Can I change the plan manager to be me rather than my wife so I can use the audio books?
The subscription comes out of our joint account

Hi there,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

Unfortunately, there currently isn’t a way to change the plan manager for a Premium Duo plan once they've signed up. However, the current plan manager can cancel the plan, and then you can start a new Premium Duo plan as its plan manager.

No worries, changing subscription plans won't cause anyone to lose anyone to lose any of their playlists, saved music, or settings.

Your wife can first cancel the existing Premium Duo plan by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your account page
  2. Under Manage your plan, click Change Plan
  3. Scroll to Cancel Spotify and click Cancel Premium

At your next billing date (which you can view on your account page), the accounts of both members of the current Premium Duo plan will switch to the free service. At that time, you can start a new Premium Duo plan here as its plan manager, and then invite your wife to the new plan by following these steps.

Bear in mind that to accept the invite, the other member must live at the same address as the plan manager. Note as well that members can only switch between different Premium Duo or Premium Family plans once in 12 months.

You can also read more about how Premium Duo works in this support article as well as in this FAQ article.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!
