Changing my display name after deactivating Facebook

How do I change my display name after I deactivated my Facebook and disconnected it from Spotify? I have recently deactivated my Facebook account, and then through my browser, disconnected my Facebook from my Spotify account and set up an actual email password for it. Through my desktop app, I was then able to update my profile picture, but I cannot find a way to change my display name, even after going through Spotify's help topics. My display name is currently my username, and just displays as 2244u65-----; I'd like to be able to change it to Alex, my actual name. Thanks!

It sounds like your account wasn't correctly disconnected from Facebook.

I’d recommend checking out this Spotify Answer for the steps you should take to use Spotify without Facebook.

Furthermore, if all of the steps above where taken correctly, it's possible you can see the option to change your display name due to it being a recent app change.

You can try and reinstall your app to make sure you are using the latest version and then to follow the steps provided here to change your display name.

Perfect, thank you! I followed the steps for option 1 as listed here and it worked perfectly. I believe I'd already followed similar steps when I first deactiviate my Facebook, but I redid them all in order and I was presented with the Edit Profile option once I'd properly disconnected my FB.
