Double Billing

I tried to sign up for Spotify using the student selection but couldn't get verified after entering the payment information.  So, I resubscribed under the $0.99 for 3 month and then $9.99 each month thereafter.  I looked at my statement today, and was billed for both the $4.99 student fee and the $0.99 fee.  I am a high school student and would prefer the student version; however, if that's not possible, the other is fine.  But I only want to pay for one!  🙂

Hi @sydneydekan! The $4.99 charge you're seeing is most likely seeing a pre-authorization charge. The short version is that these are holds on your account to ensure that it does, and will, contain enough funds to cover the transaction when Spotify actually claims the funds. If the transaction was never completed then the hold should be dropped within a few business days and no funds actually taken from your account.
