Error 117. Can't Play Spotify at work

Error 117. Can't Play Spotify at work

I have spotify Unlimited. Recently at work a new proxy has been put in. It places my IP in switzerland and am now unable to use my spotify account at all. I have read that i have 14 days abroad each time i log in from the UK. But i have done this as use it at home all the time.

Hi, and welcome to the community!

 

Have you tried going to Edit>Preferences and configuring the proxy settings with your proxy?

Ye i have tried. Though no success.

Error 117 is not a country based error, it is a connection issue. 

Can you try all of the steps outlined in this help page? You might need to get your company IT department to open the ports Spotify needs to work which are detailed on that page.

The thing is most people in work can use thier spotify accounts they are a mixture of unlimited and premium users. Though it seems the proxy positions thier ip in other locations such as France etc and it works for them fine. I very much doubt any port opening will be done to acomidate my spotify usage. I will go through these steps though and reply if it still doesnt work.
