My Question or Issue

I have recently created a family plan for me and my sister. My account country had to be Netherlands since I used a dutch bank, however when setting up the plan it allowed me to put the "home address" and I selected my address from Germany where my sister lives as well.

The problem is she is constantly receiving the "it looks like you're trying to join Premium Family from a different country" because my account is set to Netherlands even though the required address for the Family plan is in Germany.

What is the solution for this?

Hi there @Destroy3,

thanks for reaching out !

For a Spotify Premium subscription of any sort to work properly, a user is asked to provide their country of origin (where the account is actually set at) and a matching payment method issued in the same country.

Furthermore, for a Family Plan to work correctly, the owner of the plan can invite their family members to join as long as they live at the same country and reside under the same address.

Unfortunately, if your family members account is set to another country, they won't be able to join your plan as it breaks the basic condition of the subscription.

You can read all about the Family Plan visiting this help page.

Let me know if you have any further questions 🙂
